It’s going to be my pleasure getting to know YOU, so here’s a little about me to get us acquainted…

Hey 😊 I’m Victoria, Counsellor and Social Worker

Bachelor of Behavioural Science (Psychology) and Masters of Social Work

Plucking up the courage to book a consult with a counsellor is a HUGE achievement and I can’t wait to hear your story.

My story?

Well, counselling plays a massive part in my life, being in the industry for over 12 years.  I’ve spent time counselling young people at headspace, taken on research and project roles and am currently working with kids in years 7-12 in a school setting.

As someone who values empathy, authenticity and integrity, you’ll feel supported and nurtured during your counselling session with me.  Our conversations will feel natural and non-judgemental, and you’ll leave each session with a belief that change is absolutely possible for you.

With a focus on supporting teens and women, I specialise in:

  • Mental health

  • Autism Spectrum (level 1 and 2 presentations)

Considering health and illness behaviour as products of your biological characteristics (such as your genes), behavioural factors (such as lifestyle, stress and health beliefs), and social conditions (such as cultural influences, family relationships and social support), an important part of our sessions is getting to know YOU completely.

Acknowledging everyone has their own unique experiences with discrimination and oppression, you’ll see me working closely with Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islanders, the culturally and linguistically diverse and LGBTIQA+ communities.

Also wife, mum of 3 (ok.. 2 of those may be my rescue pups!) and THE biggest cheerleader on your journey to mental health and wellbeing!

Life outside of counselling revolves around my family, with husband Vince, daughter Violet (yes, we’re the 3 Vs), and our rescue pups, Diesel and Nacho.

Luckily for me, my family is incredibly close and there’s not a day that goes by that I don’t see or speak with my mum (my bestie).  Our family is both culturally and linguistically diverse, with a beautiful (if I don’t say so myself!) mix of Scottish, Mauritian and Chilean.

What does that mean? I’m a self-confessed foodie and coffee snob, but all that good food has to go somewhere, so boxing is my chosen method of staying mentally and physically fit.  There’s nothing more satisfying than taking my frustrations out on the bags while listening to some tunes!
